Welcome to 3rd grade! This is an exciting and important year for all of our students. We are thrilled to partner with our families to help our learners become more independent and build upon the skills they have learned in previous grades. Throughout the year, we will focus on creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, which will help our students develop their collaboration, communication, and technology skills.

In 3rd grade, students will be reading to learn. We will be focusing on comprehension skills for a variety of texts. Our students will have the opportunity to explore different genres and discover the joy of reading. As authors, they will also be writing several multi-paragraph pieces throughout the year. We will guide them in expressing their thoughts and ideas effectively through their writing.

This year, our students will be introduced to new and exciting math skills. They will learn how to divide and multiply, as well as work with larger numbers. We will provide them with engaging activities and real-life examples to make math fun and relatable. Our goal is to help them develop a strong foundation in math that will serve them well in the future.

In 3rd grade, we believe in the importance of understanding the world around us. Our students will have the opportunity to explore various topics such as maps, Windsor's history, weather, animal adaptations, and habitats. Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, they will gain a deeper understanding of the world we live in.
